Renovations & Restorations
At Hallettstone Memorials we can renovate any of your memorials, whether it be a small chip on your monument through to a full restoration of your memorial. We can also repair and renovate ceramic photos, statues, vases and candle boxes.
Here are some examples of Renovations & Restorations we are proud of:
David Mooseek Memorial
Hallettstone Memorials were engaged to rejuvenate the existing memorial for a loved one. The work performed was to remove the headstone from the existing concrete, and take it back to the factory for refreshing.
All care was taken in cleaning the marble headstone and then regild the existing hand-cut lettering.
Upon installation of the headstone a new Harcourt ledger was also installed to give the monument a nice and clean finish.
A fantastic result and a very happy family.
Kemp Shearer Memorial
Was in very bad condition, a marble headstone was broken, fence was broken and the inside of the grave was in disrepair.
Hallettstone removed broken kerbing and replaced it with new kerbing, filled the internal of the grave with soil and then concreted to put in Marble chips for a new top. Wayne Hallett made by hand matching Carrara Marble headstone and restored existing headstone. Sandblasted wrought iron fence, repainted it and reinstalled.
Great result for a 100 year old grave.
Mr. Hyett Memorial
Hallettstone Memorials were asked to restore the memorial for the late Mr. Hyett of the Rail, Tram & Bus Union.
We needed to clean the granite that had staining from many years of exposure to the weather, pollution. This took quite a while to clean and bring back to new as possible. Clean around existing Lead Letters and repaint lettering bring back to new, clean up bluestone border at base of memorial along with concreting. And as a final touch added Marble chips as a feature.
There was a celebration for this memorial on 24th April 2019 as it was 100 years.
The family approached Hallettstone Memorials to help them with the headstone on the existing memorial and in addition to place a ledger on the kerbing.
The family realised that there was not enough room left on the existing headstone for 2 other future burials.
Hallettstone Memorials removed existing headstone, replaced with a new larger headstone with lettering on it and installed a ledger to sit on the kerbs.
The change to the monument was a great result with a very happy family.
